About Us

Huron High Schools media center offers a selection of over 8000 books and a variety of other research materials including magazines (Time, American History, Discover, Consumer Reports, Education Digest, Psychology Today, Sport Illustrated, New York Times, Wired ), newspapers (Monroe Evening News), and digital resources. Media center staff are available to help students in finding research and proof reading. The media center also houses the district's monthly Board of Education meetings and can be signed out for use by classes at the high school.

Hours of Operation

The media center is open to students Monday through Friday 7:30AM-3:00PM. On Half days the media center is available from 7:30AM-11:00AM

Checking out a Book

  • To check out a book, please bring your selection to the circulation desk.

  • No more than three books should be check out at once, though there may be exceptions

  • Reminders regarding overdue books are provided to students, typically during their first hour.

  • Reference books can not be checked out but must remain in the media center.

  • Students with overdue books may not be eligible to check out new books until overdue books are returned or renewed

  • Books can be checked out for 14 days (two weeks). Checkouts can be renewed for additional time. In order to renew a book, the book must be present.

Signing In

Students visiting the media center must sign in at the circulation desk. Students visiting during class time must have a pass from there teacher. No exceptions. 

Lunch Time

Students who wish to work in the media center during lunch must have a pass from a lunch room attendant. The media center is open all three lunch periods.

It should be noted that no food or beverages outside water are allowed in the media center.
